biographical details of the men listed on the
memorial For their country: The Florence
Institute Great War Memorial byJoe Devereux
(2006) Liverpool Central Library holds a copy. [Ref
H940.465/DEV] The Liverpool Echo wrote
a
short piece about this memorial in 2006
which includes a list of the names of the fallen.
The Lord Mayor's Office has transcribed the list
of names on the 1st World War Memorial situated in the Hall of
Remembrance at Liverpool Town Hall. A database has been created
which can be used to search for names on this - the First World
War Memorial Roll of Honour of Liverpool's Military War Dead.
This was opened by the Duke of Windsor, then Prince of Wales in
1921 and lists over 13,000 names.
There are
